The Experience:

The Museum of Gothenburg is a cultural history museumlocated in an old 18th century East India house. The museum was originally founded to showcase natural history, art, science and industry, with a collection of books. Now its exhibits teach of what life was like in West Sweden and its rich history, including the modern industrial revolution, as well as showcasing the only Viking ship in Sweden, the Äskekärrsskeppet.

Not only is this building a fine example of history itself, but a visit will give you more insight into Sweden’s rich cultural and industrial past from 12,000 years ago. Don´t miss the Children´s Museum, temporary exhibitions and guided tours to really make the most of your experience and time in Gothenburg. In the museum there is also a shop, restaurant and café.
