See Gothenburg’s top sites and attractions from aboard a Hop on Hop off Bus Tour to create your own sightseeing adventure around the city.

A Hop on Hop off Bus Tour is the best way to see the sights of Gothenburg, taking in the top attractions from the comfort of your own seat. Hop on or off at any of the seven stops and see the sights at leisure, exploring Fish Church, the Opera House, City Gardens, and wonderful shopping streets at your own pace.

You are entitled to make multiple journeys on the buses until your Gothenburg Pass has expired. We recommend to hop on the bus at stop 1 at Stora Teatern. The route may change in conjunction with State visits or big events. For Timetable see Opening times.

Please note: During the high season, the tours can be very busy especially in the mornings, therefore we can not always guarantee a seat on specific departures. Also due to seasonality the Hop On-Hop Off bus will run until 30th of September. Back in April 2019.

The Experience:

Kungsportsplatsen is located by the popular Avenyn street, where you’ll find many shops and restaurants making this a perfect starting spot. You can join the tour here and stay on the route for the full hour, or look forward to hopping on and off for the duration of your 24-hour ticket to really explore this vibrant city.

Feskekôrka is Gothenburg's most famous fish market where you can hop off to tuck into one of the many freshly caught delicacies of that day. No visit to Gothenburg would be complete without trying a herring – raw! Ask the locals how it’s done.

If you missed the first stop, the third will take you back to Avenyn which is a great place to hop off and walk down to admire the beautiful street, Vasagatan, down to the quaint Haga district with its many cafés and boutiques. This is a great little area to spend a few hours idly strolling around the neighbourhood.

The bustling bus and tram junction of Korsvägen is close to the amusement park, Liseberg, as well as the mind-blowing Universeum which is fun for all the family, and the acclaimed Museum of World Culture. If you have kids make sure to get off at this stop!

Nearby to the central railway station and city gardens, you can hop off at Drottningtorget to explore your beautiful surroundings and relax in the urban oasis – A picnic in the park of the Garden Society of Gothenburg. Here is also Alfie Atkins Cultural Centre.

At Lilla Bommen you can see the impressive Opera House, Viking ships and boats in the harbour – so this is a great stop to see some of Gothenburg’s most iconic and significant sights. Here starts also our other archipelago Tours like "Archipelago Tour with the guide", Grand Sightseeing Tour of Gothenburg" and "Tour of Hisingen". Here you can also visit "Götheborgsutkiken", included in the pass.

Finally, if you’re a shopaholic and want some retail therapy, the stop Brunnparken /Lejontrappan is one to hop off to visit Nordstan shopping mall, one of the biggest in Scandinavia! So make sure you have some stamina…
